Dodd Hall Auditorium, University of Mary Washington This project was the renovation of the lighting and finishes in the historic University of Mary Washington Dodd Hall Auditorium. The electrical design consisted of new dimmable fluorescent chandeliers and wall sconces to replace the incandescent house lighting and fluorescent staggered strips and to replace the incandescent lighting in the valances. The lighting fixture ballasts were matched to the existing dimmers allowing the utilization of the existing incandescent dimmers and associated wiring with the new lighting. Emergency ballasts were provided in the fixture for improved egress lighting. This project and our involvement in it were acclaimed by LD&A magazine. Claude Moore Educational Complex -Roanoke, VA. This project entailed the expansion of the Roanoke Higher Education Center in downtown Roanoke, Virginia. It reclaimed three historical buildings that previously sat vacant for decades. The design was carefully crafted to ensure the restoration and rehabilitation of the three structures including and auditorium. This project entailed construction design and management as required. This project included the renovation of a 1930’s vintage school building in a multiuse facility for senior citizens center, parks and recreations department offices and other county offices. An important part of the project was to preserve the appearance of the original structure, which was a WPA project from the 1930’s. The electrical design included: Lighting, general purpose power, electrical service and distribution, emergency generator, fire alarm system and connections to mechanical equipment. Lee Ranger Station, George Washington and Jefferson National Forests - Edinburg VA The design of a new ranger station with the intention of the facility becoming LEED certified. The electrical design included lighting design, electrical service and distribution, general purpose power and fire alarm. The site lighting design utilized full cut-off lighting to minimize the spillage of light beyond the project boundaries.
